In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells a story about a rich man who experienced a great harvest. Faced with this abundant blessing, the man decided to build big barns to store the entire harvest. He didn’t stop to give thanks and he didn’t choose to share anything with the people around him. Jesus finished this story with a word of warning for faithful Christians – “So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God” (Luke 12:21).
This raises important questions for us: What are we doing with the treasures God has entrusted to us? Are we hoarding them away? Do we thank God for them? Do we invest them in missions and ministries that share the grace and love of Jesus Christ with the world?
You are invited to invest your financial treasures in the ministries of University United Methodist Church. Each and every dollar is carefully used for the life changing work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together, the gifts we’ve been entrusted with can transform lives!
