University Kids (Birth – 5th Grade)

At University, we value and support the faith life of our children. We encourage their energy and enthusiasm as we share the love of Jesus Christ in fun and interactive ways. All of the programs listed below are open to kids through 5th grade, and visitors are always welcome! To learn more about University Kid activities, contact Virginia, the Director of Children’s Ministries.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School teaches kids Bible stories through numerous kid-friendly formats including: art, cooking, theater, video, computers, music, storytelling, and games. Classes are divided by age group so that lessons can be tailored directly to a group’s interests and abilities. Sunday School starts at 10:15 am in the upstairs chapel.

Really Cool Thing

On the second and fourth Sunday of every month, University hosts a high energy evening program for kids from 5-6pm. Every week is an entirely different experience with new games, crafts, experiments, and more! The nights are themed around fun kids topics and always include a relevant and interesting Bible story. It’s a fun opportunity for kids to let out some energy while learning about God!

Go!

University hosts a week-long evening program every summer in Fairmount Park to teach kids about God. The Go program recognizes a child’s natural energy and provides an outlet to run, scream, jump, and play while still experiencing and learning about God’s love. Go is completely free and open to kids preschool through fifth grade. And all participants receive a tshirt and water bottle. Contact Virginia at vcain@uumcfw.com for more information about the next program

Nursery

University’s nursery is open from 9:00am on Sunday morning and runs until the completion of the second service. Kids, infants through toddlers are always welcome in the nursery where they are cared for by loving staff.

Worship

We celebrate the presence of children in worship! Activity binders stocked with coloring pages and activities are available in the entryway for kids to occupy themselves with during the service. During both services, the children are invited to come to the front for a short lesson during children’s time. We are honored to be an intergenerational congregation and we enjoy the presence of children in all aspects of the church, worship included.
