Mission Trips

Throughout the year, there are several opportunities at University to travel and share the love of Jesus Christ. Mission trips not only provide tangible representations of God’s love to those in need but can be revelatory experiences about the deep needs in the world and the transformative ways God is yet at work. University’s two annual mission trip programs are listed below.

Casas Por Cristo

Casas Por Cristo (Houses for Christ) shares the love of Jesus Christ by building homes for families in Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Groups travel to one of their various build locations and in just a week, build an entire house from the ground up. University has participated in Casas Por Cristo builds since 2012, both in Guatemala and Mexico. For more information on Casas Por Cristo, visit www.casasporcristo.org; to learn about University’s future Casas Por Cristo trips, contact sam at shamann@uumcfw.com.

Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission

Every summer, the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church hosts a mission trip for the conference youth. The trips typically take place in a neighboring state and involve construction or landscape work for local residents. University’s youth have long participated in these trips, learning more about their own faith and how to share God’s love in the process. To learn more about next summer’s trip, contact Joseph at jbrandley@uumcfw.com or visit the CTCYM website at www.ctcumc.org/ctcym.
